Raccoon Valley Little League provides baseball for boys and girls from ages 4-16. We offer the following divisions:
Tee Ball - Ages 4-5 years old - For the first year player. They will learn introductions to baseball and have a lot of fun! Teams are kept small for ease of instruction.
Rookie (Coach pitch) - Ages 6-7 years old - The coach will toss a ball to the players for the first time and switch to a tee if they are unable to get a hit from the coaches pitch. Players will develop at this level for two years.
Minors (Player pitch) - Ages 8-9 years old -This will be the first time kids pitch and catch! Coaches will assist as needed and players will have umpires for the first time! Player evaluations are required to ensure teams are evenly skilled.
Majors - Ages 10-12 years old - Competitive full on baseball with umpires. Time to hone your skills. Players will pitch and catch with no physical help from the coaches. Player evaluations are required to ensure teams are evenly skilled.
Junior/ Seniors - Ages 13-16 years old - This level enjoys competitive interleague play with neighboring Little Leagues like Beaverdale Little League and Fort Des Moines Little League.
All of our divisions are baseball. Unfortunately there is no softball offered at RVLL. We encourage girls to play; but please be aware that we don't have that many and your child may be the only girl on the team.
We do not guarantee any team or coach requests except in our Tee Ball and Rookie divisions. It also depends on the amount of coach volunteers we receive. All teams are coached by parent volunteers who pass a background check.
It is the coach's responsibility to reach out and communicate with the teams. Communications go out to the coaches by the league reps and RVLL President. You can access your team by logging in to our website and going to Team Central/Team Directory. For ages 8-12, we require player evaluations to ensure all teams are evenly skilled.
If you are able to be a coach, assistant coach, or volunteer in any capacity, you will complete our 2-step volunteer application. Once you complete the application, you will be invited via email to complete a form for a criminal background check.
